I was born in 1967 and consider myself very lucky to be brought up in a booksellers’ family amongst a huge numbers of books. As a child I travelled with my family to many countries, and by the time I was a young girl I had pen pals from all over the world, some of whom I spent my vacations with. My passion for travelling never ceased, and thus my memories and experiences of different cultures influenced my imagination as an author, making their way into Felix’ adventures.
Books have always fascinated me. I am a trained bookseller and for many years I worked as an editor for children’s books while writing my own children’s books. My first book was published in 1989. Since than I have written approx. 100 children’s books. My ‚Letters from Felix’ have been translated into 30 languages and are broadcasted internationally. Since 2000 I am a full time writer. Together with my two children I live in the Cologne Area.

Annette Langen is an ardent supporter of children’s literacy and is actively engaged as an ambassador in this area. She has been a volunteer patron to the Solingen Elementary School since 2001 where children from 14 different nations are taught. „I consciously committed myself to support this particular school, which has a tragic history. In 1993, in an arson attack, two Turkish students were killed by former students of the school.“

Letters from Felix, 1994, Abbeville Press Publishers, New York, Paris, London, ISBN 0-7892-0058-9
At the end of the holiday something terrible happens: Sophie's cuddly rabbit, Felix, disappears at the airport. This is very, very bad, because Sophie and Felix are inseparable. But when school starts again, suddenly a letter from Felix arrives - from London. And that is only the first letter her cuddly rabbit sends from his trip around the world. More letters come - from Paris, Rome, Cairo, a safari in Kenya, and New York.
Felix's humorous and informative letters describing the lands and people he visits are included in six genuine envelopes. Real letters and a little suitcase with souvenir travel stickers make this world tour to spring to life.
